The whole international shipping cost from China are consist of 3 parts :
- Origin export fee in China ( Known as local charge )
- Shipping cost by carrier ( For port to port only )
- Destination import fee (Customs, delivery,tax,duty etc )
A very simple idea for you to understand the most frequently used trade term :
FOB :? Port to Port
Only you need to pay is the sea freight cost only. The local charges will be paid by your suppliers when FOB.
EXW:? Door to Port
You will need to pay the shipping cost together with local charges in China.
DDU:? Door to Door
You will need to pay all above 3 charges.

Firstly, learning where are your China suppliers located, and then choose the closest port of loading to save the picking up or delivery cost.
China Main loading port for sea freight :
Dalian, Tianjin, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Shenzhen,Guangzhou, Hongkong, Keelung, Kaohsiung
China Main loading port for air freight :
Beijing: PEK
Qingdao:TAO
Shanghai: PVG
Ningbo: NBG
Xiamen: XMN
Shenzhen: SZX
Guangzhou: CAN
Hongkong: HKG
Zhengzhou: CGO

We suggest goods from other cities delivered to above POLs for shipping. It will be more suitable and cost-saving.
Basic POD in Puerto Rico
You should understand only basic discharges ports or freight airports can be suitable and available for international shipping. Goods at other places in Puerto Rico will be discharged or transitted at the following PODs.
- San Juan?(Both For sea and air )
For standard shipping from China to Puerto Rico, the necessary documentation will be :
- Packing List ( P/L )
- Commercial Invoice ( CI )
- Bill of Lading ( B/L or AWB )
P/L and CI is normally offered by China suppliers. However, if importers want to keep shipment blind, i.e make final client don??t know the origin supplier, importers need to provide their docs.

5. Import Agent
So now you have understood the incoterms.
If you choose FOB port to port shipping service. You will need to find local agent in Puerto Rico for the import operation ( Customs clearance, doc processing, delivery to door, tax,duty etc ) by yourself.
When the service you request is DDU or DDP, then we can offer door to door service with our agent partner’s assistance.
The agent contact can be given after booking confirmed.
For international shipping, freight prepaid is requested according to common rules.
For air freight, payment must be made before flight depart.
For sea freight, despite payment can be made after vessel sailing, it must be received before goods arrived at destination port ( i.e, Before shipment released actually )
T/T ( Telegraphic Transfer) is the most used payment tool. Paypal, money Gram/Western Union is no more accepted by China forwarders.
For some regular and valued clients, MingNiao can provide freight collect or pay to supplier service ( To save bank commission fee, you can pay us all costs to our account, then we pay to supplier the product cost )

- Booking:?You confirm us the proposal and instruct us how to contact your suppliers. We contact them to coordinate with the local export operation and make the booking.
- Shipping :??We clear the Customs , prepare the bill of lading and arrange the shipping.
- Payment :?We send you the freight invoice and you pay us accordingly.
- Tracking:?We release the shipment and send you the tracking information with cargo status.
- After-sale:?We keep an eye on this shipment and follow up on the arrival notice, Customs clearance and delivery,etc.
